Grand Theft Auto 4

Posted by Augusto Triste on November 15th, 2007

Grand Theft Auto IV is coming for the consoles, it will be released at February 2008 and at first it will be available for Playstation 3 and Microsoft’s XBox 360, dates for PC release are not set yet, probably it will be several months like GTA San Andreas. Unlike the other series of the game that where always set in the past, this one is set in 2007.“Life is complicated. I killed people. Smuggled people. Sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different.”

“Life is complicated. I killed people. Smuggled people. Sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different.”

Grand Theft Auto IV’s protagonist, Niko Bellic, travelled to Liberty City in order to live the “American Dream,” where allegedly money and women come easy. Niko hails from an unspecified Eastern European country, which he recently departed after landing himself in hot water with the local gangs. Niko - unshaven, in his mid-thirties and sporting a cheap tracksuit - was enticed by his cousin Roman to try life in America. He claimed to be living with two women, four hot tubs and fifteen sport cars - a lifestyle which very much appealed to Niko - and so with things not working out back home, he packed his belongings and soon became America’s latest immigrant. Upon arrival, Niko discovers that his cousin’s claims were far from the truth, and he finds himself drawn into Roman’s (seemingly endless) list of personal problems.

GeForce 8800GT

If you want to upgrade your graphic card, now is the moment, especially with Crysis just around the corner, unless you have a Geforce 8800GTX or Ultra and want to play your games at high specs and high resolutions, GeForce 8800GT is probably the answer to your problems, it will be for the mainstream gamer with prices around 230$ in US or 170£ at UK.

GeForce 8800GT Unreal Tournament 3 BenchmarkGeForce 8800GT the new mid range from nvidiaGeForce-8800-GTcrysis
The chipset is the new G92 thus integrates 754 million transistors; an 11% increase compared to the G80’s 681 million. Yet, the number of computational units decreases; we go from 128 stream processors to 112, but we must keep in mind that, on the 8800 GTS, only 96 of them are active. Accordingly, the number of texturing units increases from 48 to 56. Finally, thanks to the 65 nm process, the die’s surface shrinks 33%, although its size is still twice as big as a G84. It will be faster then the 8800GTS 320 with the GPU clock @ 600 MHz, shaders clock @ 1500 MHz and memory clock @ 900 MHz, it will be shiped in two flavours 512/256 MB and of course is a directx 10 and 9 compatible. The GeForce 8800 GT is the mid-range card that we’ve been waiting for, go for it! Check here for a full review at Tomsharware.

Crysis Demo

Posted by Augusto Triste on October 29th, 2007

Finally Crysis demo arrive, probably the most anticipated demo of the year, from the creators of Far Cry, Crytek second most import game to date will be released on 16 of November, Crytek games are well known for its amazing scenario of beautiful islands and superior AI, Crysis as well as Far Cry is set on a island but this time the jungle behaves differently, with much more interaction with the player, leaves move when you touch them and trees drop dows if you fire at them or drive in to it with a jeep, the second part of the game will be like an iceland as the island is freeze by the aliens.

The demo features the first level “Contact” its short but very good, you wont be disapointed by it, on the contraire you will buy the game for sure after played the demo, the only shame is that this game really needs a gaming machine!! I was playng on a Intel Core Duo E6850@ 3Gh 2GB RAM 800Mz Motherboard Evga 650i Sli and, Western Digital Raptor 10.000Rpm, GeForce 7950GT and i was only getting 15FPS at 1024×764 with all the settings on High, so if you planning to play this games, start upgrading!;-) You can get the demo here.
