Zalman ZM-NC2000

Posted by Augusto Triste on January 3rd, 2008

Zalman is probably the best cooling solution for desktops, with low noise cooling systems and very efficient cooling fans, has now a very good solution for laptops. The ZM-NC2000 is a ultra quiet notebock cooler with an aerodynamic design to reduce notebock’s temperature as well as the overall noise level.

The Rubber Grip Strip prevents the notebook from sliding and aluminum treated with D.S.A. Surface Processing.
* D.S.A.( Diamond Cutting, Sand Blasting, Anodizing) for durability and high cooling performance.

ZM-NC2000 is ergonomic and is especially designed to minimize user fatigue. Two centrifugal fans for consistent high air pressure and fast cooling performance. 928 high capacity vent holes evenly distribute the flow of cold air to cool the entire notebook. Optimized ventilation structure and aerodynamic design provide excellent performance even during low noise level operation.

The ZM-NC2000 cools the notebook allowing its internal fan to operate quietly at low RPM, making it ideal for quiet environments such as libraries and offices. Tested with Samsung Sense X10+ Maximum Load, ZM-NC2000 operating on minimum RPM. Both fan’s run at 1,100 - 1,500 rpm ± 10 % with low noise; 18.0 - 25.5 dBA ± 10 %

Powered by the notebook’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adaptor. The fan speed adjustable to accommodate the user’s environment.

nVIDIA 780i Three Way SLI

Posted by Augusto Triste on December 31st, 2007

nVIDIA has just launched the new nForce 780i, this one targeting Intel processors and supporting; Intel Socket LGA775 Full support for Intel Penryn 45nm (Yorkfield & Wolfdale), Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo, Pentium this new motherboard has full support to three-way SLI technology.XFX 750i

The nForce 780i SLI supports Intel’s one-, two- and four-core desktop processors on a frontside bus (FSB) clocked at between 533MHz and 1333MHz for the latest models. The chipset hooks the CPU up to two channels of DDR 2 memory running at up to 1200MHz but only works if the memory is certified to Nvidia’s Extended Performance Profile (EPP), otherwise it’ll be clocked at up to 800MHz. The chipset has 62 PCI Express (PCIe) lanes at its disposal, so it’s capable of scalable host up to three x16 connectors, though interestingly only two are PCIe 2.0 compatible - the third is plain old PCIe 1.0. Motherboards based on the 780i can also offer up to five PCI slots.

Three-way SLI technology allows users to connect up to three GeForce 8800 Ultra or 8800 GTX graphics cards - both older, 80nm parts rather than shiny new 65nm ‘G92′ unfortunately chips like the 8800 GT and the new 512MB 8800 GTS are not supported yet. Motherboards with the new 780i chipset can host up to ten USB 2.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet connectors, two parallel ATA drives and six 3Gb/s SATA drives.

Nvidia also introduced the crippled 750i SLI, a motherboard designed to support only two simultaneously connected graphics cards via its 26 PCIe lanes, like the old 680i SLI. It too supports a 1333MHZ FSB, but the DDR 2 memory link is limited to 800MHz rather then 1200MHz.
